A little more perspective.
A car is an engineering decision, a household decision and a small part of a much bigger world. We look at all three.
What you will find here
Torque Journal is an English-language automotive publication for curious readers around the world. Our focus is the reasoning behind a choice: why charging access matters more than a headline range figure, what a safety rating does and does not tell you, and how the industry’s decisions reach the driveway.
The journal brings together six subjects: electric vehicles, the automotive industry, buying, technology, ownership and driving culture. Some stories help you understand a mechanism. Others weigh the trade-offs of a decision or examine an idea shaping the road ahead.
Context before conclusions
A useful analysis explains its assumptions. A number from one market may not travel well to another. A test result belongs to a particular vehicle, test method and date. We link references so readers can examine that context and take the next step themselves.
Our articles are research-based analysis and explainers. They are not presented as first-hand road tests, workshop inspections or breaking-news reporting. Illustrative photographs show automotive subjects; they do not establish that a particular model has been tested or recommended.
Built for an international readership
Readers use different roads, charging networks, currencies and measurement systems. We identify a regional source when the distinction matters and encourage checking local specifications before a purchase. Our energy calculator supports both miles and kilometres and keeps its assumptions visible.
